The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has appointed the retired headmaster of Pilot Science Primary School Gwagwalalada, Mr Ahmed Adamu Shangalo as the District Head of Paikon-Kore Community.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Gwagwalada Director of Administration, Mr Awaje Danlami for the executive Chairman of the Council and made available to Peoples Daily Correspondent in the area.
According to the statement, “your appointment to serve in this capacity is informed by the choice of the King makers and the popular will of the people of Paikon Kore Community.
“It is imperative to notify you that any contravention or disrespect to the constituted authority will invoke the relevant rules to disengage you from this selection”, the statement warned.
In an interview, the District Head of Paikon Kore Community, Mr Shangalo thankied the authority of the Area Council for appointing him as the District Head.
He said his leadership would carry every tribe residing in Paikon Kore along irrespective of tribal and religious inclinations, adding that he would join hands with the management of the Council to move the community forward.
The Paikon Kore royal father, however, appealed to the administration of the Area Council to deem it necessary to provide fertilizers to the farmers in this year’s cropping season, and called for the provision of scholarship to indigent students of the Community.
