The Chairmanship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gwagwalada Area Council in the FCT, Hon. Comrade Mohammed Kasim, has called on the party executives as well as the members to unite and work for the party during the forthcoming election in the area.
Kasim made the call while speaking to newsmen after he was declared as a winner during the delegates election in Gwagwalada, also charged those who contested with him to accept the will of God in a good faith.
He said he would work with all the aspirants of the party so that he will win the 2026 election, pledging to take everybody along.
He explained that party loyalists had every reason to support him to win the February 2026 election, expressing confident that no member of the party would engage in anti-party activities.
Kasim cautioned the members of the party to desist from any act capable of undermining the process of the party in 2026 election.
Also speaking the electoral committee chairman on the FCT PDP 2026 chairmanship election, Mr. Jigo D. Michael described the conduct of primary election as free, fair and credible.
In a related development, the flag bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) In Gwagwalada Area Council in the FCT, Alhaji Dada Mohammad Wumi, has warned the politicians against politics of bitterness during the 2026 FCT Ares Councils election.
Wumi gave the warning in an interview with newsmen, after he won the delegates election in Gwagwalada, urging the politicians to shun politics of do-or- die affair.
He said if elected he would focus on education, security and rural roads, adding that if given the mandate he will provide basic necessities of life for the people in the area.
He further said if given the opportunity he would train the youths on the skills acquisition programme, so as to be self-reliance in the society, pointing out that he would give a priority to the less privileged ones in Gwagwalada and its environs.
He called on the candidates of other political parties to play politics of maturity, instead of creating rancour within themselves, saying that Gwagwalada belonging to all of us.
He, however, promised to maintain peace among the different tribes residing in Gwagwalada for the sake of unity and togetherness.
