National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has disclosed that activities and operations of Hajj exercise from Nigeria to Saudi-Arabia are now 100% ICT compliant.
The Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad made the disclosure yesterday in Katsina during the inaugural flight for the 2019 Hajj exercise at the Umaru Musa ‘ Yar’ adua International Airport, Katsina.
He said, “Visas are now electronically generated and this has help in eliminating some of the hitches faced during the exercise. It has made it easy for state pilgrims welfare boards since they can process it from their various states offices.”
The chairman has similarly appealed to pilgrims from Nigeria to strictly abide by the Saudi authority rules and regulations on crowd control, medical services and transportation operations.
He also warned pilgrims to desist from carrying prohibited items that may put them in trouble, adding that even on the issue of kola nuts
pilgrims must make sure they did not carry it to the Holy Land.
Muhammad, who appealed to pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria while in the Holy Land, thanked President Muhammad Buhari for his support to the operations of the commission.
In a remark, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has appealed to pilgrims to be of good behavior while in the Holy Land and to pray for the progress, peace and unity of the country.
Also Speaking, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman has urged the intending pilgrims to be discipline and of good character while in the Holy Land.
