From Muhammad Ibrahim, Kaduna

Amirul Hajj Team member, Alhaji Tahir Ahmed Tahir has told intending pilgrims in the country that there is no cause for alarm despite the delay in visa issuance, as all pilgrims would be airlifted before the September 28, deadline of closure of airports by the Saudi Arabian Kingdom.

He said the visa delay faced few days ago would not affect the airlift of the intending pilgrims, as, according to him, the National Hajj Commission of Nigerian (NAHCON), is doing everything possible to ensure that all intending pilgrims get to Saudi before September 28.

Malam Ahmed Tahir disclosed this when he visited Kaduna Hajj Camp on Saturday, as directed by the National Amirul Hajj, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, for members of the team to visit some states to see how activities are going on there.

According to him, since the establishment of NAHCON, there was never a year when Nigeria failed to send its pilgrims to Saudi Arabia because of visa failure.

“Therefore, God willing, these little challenges of delay in visa issuance will be resolved soon and everybody will perform hajj successfully. We are confident of meeting the deadline without any difficulty,” he said.

He also expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and how the intending pilgrims were being taken care of at the Mando Hajj camp, in Kaduna.
