A fresh twist has emerged in the long-running rift between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, as a new court document shows that Akpabio has filed a ₦200 billion defamation suit against the Kogi Central lawmaker.
The suit, dated 6th November 2025, was served through substituted means after the court granted leave to Akpabio to do so.

Reacting publicly on Thursday, December 5, Senator Natasha announced she had officially received the suit, which centres on allegations she made earlier this year accusing the Senate President of sexual harassment.

But rather than shy away, Natasha welcomed the legal battle, saying it finally gives her the opportunity to lay bare the alleged harassment she suffered.

According to her, the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges refused to hear her complaint, insisting they could not entertain the matter because Akpabio’s wife had already filed a separate defamation case against her.

By Senate rules, however, Natasha said she was still required to present her case before the committee before approaching any court, effectively leaving her stranded and unable to seek justice.

With Akpabio now heading to court first, Natasha says the road has finally opened.

“Alas, I now have a chance to prove how I was sexually harassed and how my refusal to give into his demands unleashed series of unprovoked and unprecedented attacks on my person,” she wrote.

She ended her post with a direct message to the Senate President:
“See you in court, Godswill Akpabio.”

The court order, signed by Hon. Justice U.P. Kekemeke of the FCT High Court, grants Akpabio permission to serve all originating processes, including the writ of summons and hearing notices on Natasha through the Clerk of the National Assembly at the Three Arms Zone, Abuja. The court also deemed this method of service “good and proper.”

The case, marked FCT/HC/CV/3356/2025, is expected to draw national attention as Natasha insists she is prepared to detail her allegations publicly for the first time. Akpabio, on his part, is seeking a massive ₦200bn in damages over what he calls defamatory claims.
