Worried by the effects of Harmattan seasons on sickle cell patients, which might trigger more crises, the Sickle Cell Patients Health Promotion Center (SCPHPC) Kaduna has distributed sweaters and protective dresses to over one thousand less privileged Sicklers of the Centre to reduce the effects of cold on them.
The founder of the Center Hajia Badiyya Magaji Inuwa disclosed this during the distribution in Kaduna yesterday.
Hajia Badiyya said the Centre distributed sweaters, headgear, socks and other cold protective wear to the children to protect them against extreme cold occasioned by the Harmattan.
She explained that Sickle Cell Patients because of their health challenges need to be protected from the harsh Harmattan.
Hajia Badiyya disclosed that the centre has over three thousand fewer privileged sicklers on its register for routine and other assistance.
