The popular Hausa film comedian, Rabilu Musa Dan Lasan, popularly known as Ibro, died in the wee hours of yesterday at the age of 43.
He died after protracted illness, which led to his medical trip to India, and passed away, immediately after his return to Kano.
Late Ibro was born in 1971, in Dan Lasan, a suburb in Warawa local government area, about 40 kilometres from the Kano city.
He was during his lifetime sent to prison repeatedly by the then Kano state government under ex-governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, for acting in movies believed to be violating censorship rules in Kano.
Until his death, Ibro had about 1,500 movies to his credit in the Kannywood film industry.
Late Ibro survived with four wives and eight children and was since buried according to Islamic rites at his home town in the Warawa local government area.
