Kaduna, Kano, and Lagos States have successfully attracted over four million dollars to enhance health outcomes and reduce neonatal, maternal, and child mortality rates.
At a one-day Strategic Alliance Meeting on Reproductive Health in Kaduna, Mr. Jumare Abdulaziz, Program Accountability Manager of the international organization Engender Health, made this announcement in Kaduna.
He noted that Engender Health is collaborating with the Center for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) to foster cooperation among state accountability mechanisms, Civil Society Organization (CSO) coalitions, and health partners.
Mr. Jumare explained that this project, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, focuses on building the capacity of civil society organizations in strategic advocacy and promoting citizen accountability across the three states.
The CSOs alliance is engaging key government stakeholders, including Commissioners of Health and Budget, State Houses of Assembly, and Governors, to advocate for improved budget allocations and the timely release of funds for the health sector.
