Health Ministry recognises MTMPN, says chairman

The Chairman of the Modern Traditional Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria (MTMPN)

in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Gimba Zubairu, has said that the Federal Ministry of Health has given recognition to MTMPN in totality to co-ordinate the traditional medicine practitioners across the country.

He also said the Department of the Traditional, Complementary Alternative Medicine in the Ministry was working assiduously with the president of MTMPN, Dr Ibrahim Dada Nakowa to actualise their dream for the traditional medicine healers.

Zubairu who made the disclosure while speaking with People’s Daily after a meeting with the chairmen of the association in Gwagwalada on Saturday, pointing out that MTMPN is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

He advised the entire members of MTMPN to work towards the progress of the association, and called on the members to co-operate with the leadership of the newly established MTMPN.

He revealed that MTMPN will be launched officially on the 26th of September, 2021 by the leadership of the association.

Also speaking, the Deputy president of MTMPN, Dr Adamu Ibrahim, warned the traditional medicine practitioners against using fake herbs to treat people.
