The sarikin (chief) of the traditional medicine practitioners in Gui ward, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Dahiru Iddo, has called on the Federal Ministry of Health to deem it fit to screen the traditional medicine practitioners to fish-out the fake ones.
Dahiru Iddo, who made the call in an interview with Peoples Daily Correspondent in his residence at Iddo community on Saturday, also charged the Health Ministry to register all the traditional medicine healers in the country to avoid quackeries.
He expressed dismay the way and manner at which fake traditional medicine healers had hijacked the profession, tasking the Health Ministry to expedite action on the sanity of the practitioners.
He, however, appealed to the traditional medicine practitioners in the country to desist from any act capable of tarnishing their image in the society.
He said he would continue to apprehend the fake traditional medicine healers in Gui ward and its environs so as to restore the dignity of the practitioners.
