Heartland FC of Owerri has engaged the services of a Turkish tactician, Mehmet Tayfun as new coach of the Owerri-based club in order to stabilize the team ahead of the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Premier League, NPFL.
In a release signed by the Media Officer, Heartland FC, Henry Echefu, the club notes that the involvement of the technical adviser “was as a result of the need to better the club’s performance in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League particularly as the second stanza approaches.
“This lofty Idea was possible because of the already existing partnership between the Naze milloniars and a Turkish based Football Club, Boluspur FC, which Memorandum of Understanding was signed last year as Heartland played at the Nigerian National League, the NNL.”
The statement added that it was in fulfillment of part of the MoU that Boluspur FC provided the club with services of Mr Mehmet Tayfun.
It will be recalled that Heartland Football Club recently sacked its technical crew led by Coach Ramson Madu and put his assistant Eziekel Onyegbulem in charge on interim basis.
However the club did not disclose the duration of the contract.
Mr Mehmet Tayfun has since resumed duties with the club on Wednesday.
