The worsened ongoing shortage of fuel, also known as Petroleum Motor Spirit, (PMS), which saw  motorists spending hours on queues at filling stations,  is having a  negative effect on commuters in Kaduna state, as many vowed that it is better for them to stay at home, than to spend their life savings on transportation.

A check by Peoples Daily  revealed that transportation  fare within Kaduna metropolis has tripled.

A bus from Kawo to  Central Market has been hiked from N100 to 200, while from Central Market to Sabo Tasha, is N300, compared to the N100 paid before now.

Some commuters who spoke to this reporter therefore, pleaded with the Government to help ease the cost of transportation by ensuring that Petroleum Motor Spirit is not only available, but affordable, stressing that staying at home is the best option for now.

Mrs Felicia, who sells soft drinks  informed this correspondent  that unless the Government takes the necessary measures to check the  situation, the  streets of Kaduna may soon be without the crowd  it used to have.
