Hon. Alabi, Adedeji Flag Off Construction of CMS Sports Complex

The Executive Chairman of Bariga Local Council, Hon. Alabi Kolade David accompanied by the Bariga APC Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Bukola Adedeji, on Wednesday, flagged off the construction of the 450-capacity CMS Primary School Sports complex.

The sporting facility, upon its completion, will comprise a football field, track, lawn tennis court, volleyball and basketball courts. It will also feature a gym, conference room, changing rooms, a press briefing room, facility management offices, and conveniences.

According to Hon. Alabi, “We have lots of talent in Bariga, but the infrastructure deficit is the deficiency confronting us. Seeing Ajegunle taking over from Bariga as the heart of sports in Lagos State, was due to their adequate infrastructure, which we are ready to make available to Bariga youth.”

And towards ensuring strict compliance to quality and timely delivery on the project, a monitoring committee comprising ex-Nigeria international players like Waidi Akanni, Godwin Okpara, Ayodeji Julius and Hon. Kunle Ogunade Adasi was constituted.

One of the project monitoring committee members, Hon. Kunle Ogunade Adasi, corroborated Hon. Alabi’s stand. He stated that the CMS Primary School field has produced Nigerian ex-internationals, such as Godwin Opara, who played for PSG, while also soliciting for the creation of a Bariga Sports Council.

The APC Bariga Chairmanship candidate Hon Bukola Adedeji, performed the block laying of the project, and declared the commencement of the project.

According to the Engineer handling the project, Engr. Kabir Abiola, “We have been mobilized financially and morally, and we are ready to deliver the project in 2 months.”

Witnessing the landmark flag-off were; The Bariga Local Council Councillors, Supervisors, Bariga Council Management, Bariga APC Apex Leaders, the Community Development Committee (CDC), the Projects Monitoring Committee and ex-internationals.
