House help absconds with boss’ N300,000 in Delta

A twenty-two { 22] year old female beggar -turned house help, identified as Christy Oboroh, in Asaba, Delta State, has disappeared with her boss’s N300, 000, money, kept in her custody.
It was reliably gathered that the beggar turned house help was picked at the Asaba-Onitsha head bridge sometimes in June, 2018 by an Asaba housewife, Mrs. Elizabeth Onochie, and with sympathy converted her into a house help after she was offered some financial assistance by the head bridge where she unsuspectingly beg for arm to eke a living for herself.
It was gathered that Christy had been loyal and dutiful before the bubble burst, and in most cases was being praised by her boss before the husband.
However, few days to her disappearance, she allegedly complained to her madam of her damaged phone after it fell into water, a situation she was said to have been given N20, 000 to purchase a new phone.
Instead, unconfirmed sources said the house help on the fateful Sunday, told her boss that she was going to Kowea Plaza in Asaba upon her returned for a nearby Catholic Church to purchase a new phone only to disappear with N300, 000 that was given to her to deliver to her madam by a customer on her way to Kowea Plaza.
Confirming the incident to our reporter, Mrs. Elizabeth Onochie said: “I waited till 7pm for Christy, I did not see her, and I called her line, it was not going, I knew something had happened.
“I picked her up by the head bridge where she was begging for arm, and she told me she had lost her both parents. Around 9pm, the customer called to know if I saw the N300, 000 she sent to me, I was confused, and the following money I reported to the police at the State CID headquarters Asaba”.
The police spokesman in the State DSP Andrew Aniamaka who confirmed the report, told our reporter that, the police have set out for the house help.
DSP Aniamaka however disclosed that the house girl’s GSM line is not going through, explaining that the incident occurred at Ogbe Akaze Quarters in Asaba,.
According to him, ”we will ensure we fish out the fleeing house help soonest.”
