Housing deficit: Gov.Sani inaugurates 200 hectares of housing project

To address the rising housing deficit in Kaduna, the State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, inaugurated 200 hectares of housing projects in the New Millennium City in partnership with Urban Shelter.
Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, the governor said the project was aimed at providing affordable housing solutions for the poor, vulnerable, and underserved communities.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony yesterday, Governor Uba Sani, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, emphasized that the initiative is a key component of a broader strategy to provide affordable housing for residents of the state.
Dr. Balarabe noted the administration’s multi-faceted approach, which includes partnerships with local and international investors, a robust Social Housing Scheme, and the strengthening of the Public Housing Corporation.
She disclosed that the collaboration with Qatar Charity and other prominent organizations like the Nigerian Airforce and Nigeria Customs Service has already led to significant housing developments in the state.
She added that Urban Shelter is a key player in this sector and has committed to developing the 200-hectare site under a Development Lease Agreement with the Kaduna State Government.

The executive director cleen foundation Gad Peter, explained that, the foundation as a leading organization within the Justice Sector is particularly convinced about bringing stakeholders together to reflect on the importance of citizens’ engagement on policing reform.
According to him, administration of justice is the cornerstone of any society that upholds the rule of law, “and our collective efforts are pivotal in ensuring that it remains robust and effective.
