No fewer than 24,000 FCT Staff and retirees were successfully verified in the recent verification exercise of the Federal Housing Scheme (FHS) of FCT Administration (FCTA).
However, it was gathered 9,000 staff verification were not successful in the exercise due to some errors made while filling the physical and online forms.
Recall that the FCT Administration had put a call to all its Staff and Retirees few months ago to update their National Housing Fund (NHF) data online to ensure that those who are still in service as well as the Retirees take advantage of the window provided.
Disclosing this during a monthly meeting with the management Staff of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) in his office, the Acting Director of Finance and Account, in the Treasury and Budget of the FCTA, Mr. Musa Lere, said staff were dully verified both the physical and online exercise,
Lere noted that so far, 24,000 Staff and Retirees were dully verified on both the physical and online exercise, but 9,000 Staff have incomplete details in filling the forms, and therefore, their forms were returned to FCT Administration for rectification.
He also revealed that all those staff whose verification were unsuccessful will soon be invited to effect the necessary corrections to enjoy all the accruing benefits.
He explained that the FCT Treasury and Budget has sorted out all the outstanding deductions schedule, from 2004 to 2022, which were not updated to individual account, prior to the verification exercice.
He adds: “All those schedules have now been submitted to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) for update, and the update is presently on-going.”
According to him, both the FCT Administration and FMBN will work closely through the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) to reconcile all deductions from January to June 2024 that were not remitted to NHF in the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation within the next weeks.
He stated that shortly after updating the back lock, staff will begin to receive monthly alerts of their deductions; adding that when the update is completed, staff will also see their total contributions and will be refunded adequately.
Also speaking, the Regional Manager of the FMBN, Ene Nduka-Nwafbo, appreciated the cooperation of the staff and Retirees during the last verification exercise and also solicited for more compliance to ensure effective service delivery to the FCTA.
