…. trains abducted children for attacks
A Boko Haram commander, identified as Daddy Gumba, has paid N500,000 as bride price for the daughter of a cleric, Mallam Sadiq, who was abducted alongside his family and other Ngoshe residents in Borno State.
Mallam Sadiq, his family and other residents of Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area were abducted on March 3 and held captive on Mandara Mountains by terrorists.
Some of the abducted residents have been rescued by security forces.
One of the rescued victims, who spoke on the incident, said they witnessed the marriage, adding that the terrorist paid the bride price with the knowledge of Mallam Sani, who remains in captivity.
“Mallam Sadiq and other Ngoshe residents, including some women from Askira Uba, are still with the terrorists.
“Some have chosen to remain in the terrorists camps instead of returning home,” the source claimed.
He said that some children among the captives were being trained by the terrorists.
“Many of the Ngoshe captives have not returned because they chose to stay. Some of the children are now being trained for attacks,” he added.
The Nigerian military said after the rescue, that clearance operations in the area are ongoing.
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum recently visited Gwoza, where he received the rescued people including women and children, pledged to support the rehabilitation of the community and the resettlement of displaced residents.
