The Bauchi State Government has explained that it funded Vocational and Technical Education through the Provision of Technical Equipment to eight Technical Colleges in the state.
The State Governor, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar stated this yesterday at the graduation ceremony and presentation of tools of the N-Power Build Volunteers in Bauchi.
The Governor said the development is to complement the efforts of the N-Power Build scheme of the Federal Government.
He said already the State Government has acquired former NITEL Training School with a view to boost Technical and Vocational Education.
Abubakar said , plans are underway to rehabilitate Skills Acquisition Training Centers in the twenty Local Government Areas of the state and to establish more Vocational and Technical Schools.
Represented by the State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Liman Bello, the Governor called on the graduands to partner with employers of labour for self-employment.
Governor Abubakar said the introduction of N-Power programme is a clear indication of the APC government’s effort of providing dividends of Democracy to the people, especially the unemployed youth.
In a message to the occasion, the State Director, National Orientation Agency, Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi recalled that the present administration has designed programmes beneficial to less privileged members of the society.
Alhaji Kobi commended the Federal Government for the initiative, which he observed has assisted towards reducing unemployment and poverty in the country.
