HYPREP equips fresh graduates, undergraduates with relevant career skills, employability tools

The Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) has Equipped Ogoni  graduates and undergraduate with relevant career skills by empowering them with employability tools to enhance their various skills development.

HYPREP said the continuous empowerment is its way of ensuring that the gains of HYPREP extends beyond remediation into long-term transformation.

The Project coordinator of HYPREP Nenibarini Zabbey, stated this at the 2nd edition of international career enhancement and employability workshop for ogoni fresh graduates and students of tertiary Institutions in Port-court, recently.

Prof Zabbey declaring the workshop open said ,”I want to emphasised  that this workshop is not just about enhancing your career prospects; it is also about building a community of young people and equipping you to make a positive impact in yourcommunities.

“As you benefit from HYPREP’sinterventions and the experiences of the facilitators, I charge you to take the message of peace and constructive engagement to your communities and live accordingly”.

He also assured that   HYPREP will continue to stand with you. We will continue to support your aspirations through targeted workshops and broader livelihood initiatives that prioritise your development.

“We believe in you, and we are committed to creating platforms where your potential can be nurtured and realised. I encourage you to stay on the right side of history by contributing to the success of HYPREP”, he noted .

 He also appreciated the facilitators”I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your presence and for sharing your expertise and experience with our young people.

“Your contribution is valued, and your positive impact will surely ripple across society. To our participants, thank you for believing in HYPREP”.

The project coordination said “This workshop reaffirmed our commitment to inclusiveness and continuous skills development as strategic pillars in HYPREP’s efforts to restore and improve livelihoods in Ogoniland”.

Similarly, Lead Facilitator, Akanimo Odon,said  that this edition focused on resource mobilization.

He said “We are deliberate in building structured and capacity empowerment across different levels.

Dr. Chioma Okonkwo, one of the facilitator, said it is very necessary to teach students and fresh graduates how to secure winning scholarships proposals, statement of purpose is one of the major opponent . of scholarship.

“ Getting them to brainstorm about local issues on Ogoni land and how they can apply gain scholarships and funding”.

Dr Akanimo Odan a facilitator,reiterated that “ This workshop is a framework for career enhancement and increasing capacity.

She also explained that the students must be very intentional before they can get resources for their career from government because resources is with the government.

A participant at the workshop Florence Tende, a graduate, the workshop taught her to be more innovative in her  thinking and to create actionable solutions.

Meanwhile, undergraduate, Isaac Tombari, an also shared his experiences by saying that workshop was so impactful and appreciated HYPERP for the opportunity.
