Asisat OshoalaRivers Angels midfielder Asisat Oshoala believes that winning Most Valuable Player award at the just ended CAF Africa Women Championship (AWC) in Namibia shows that she was not a fluke afterall.

Oshoala was named Most Valuable Player at the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup held in Canada in July 2014 and she is happy she could replicate that form with senior national team as they went on to lift the trophy for the seventh time.

“I feel very happy about it and it’s just like a dream come true for me,” said Oshoala.

“I had the intention that I wanted to come to this competition to prove to myself that what I did at the U20 was not a fluke, and that I would do better in this competition and I’m happy I was able to achieve that.”

“I really appreciate my effort because it’s a sign of improvement for me because I came out as the MVP at the U20 level and have done the same at the senior level and I fell happy about it,” she said.
