I didn’t lobby to be Bayelsa Deputy gov – Pastor Peter Akpe

The newly appointed Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Pastor Peter Akpe, has said he did not lobby for the job after his predecessor passed away.
Akpe said his new job is a chance to support others instead of seeking personal fame.
He shared this information during a reception at the Government House in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State.
According to Akpe, “But let me make it clear that I have not gone to lobby for any position, including this one. Most of the influential Bayelsa (big) men are here. If I had ever told you to lobby for me, please say it here. In my life, it has always been God touching people to do things for me. So I’ve always said Lord, just do your own.
“This responsibility wasn’t something I achieved by myself. I owe this state more commitment, more attention and more service. This office isn’t just mine; it belongs to the people who believe in a better Bayelsa. But let me be clear that I haven’t gone to ask for any position, including this one.
“Most of the important men from Bayelsa are here. If I had ever asked you to campaign for me, please mention it here. In my life, God has always been the one who touches people’s hearts to help me out. So I’ve always said, Lord, just do your own thing.
“Yes, some people came to me asking, what are you doing about this? And I said let the will of God be done. You shouldn’t get involved in anything that God hasn’t allowed or ready you for. So, I want to give all the praise and honor to the Almighty God.
