The Nasarawa state Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu Nadada has described the emergent of NOMAD vigilante Group in Nasarawa state as ilegal and not recognized by the state police command.
Shehu Nadada who stated this on Tuesday when the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Nasarawa state council paid him a courtesy call in his office.
“ The NOMAD vigilante group are on their own. No formal report to the police about the formation of the group. I did not recognize them. Nobody informed the police. We condemned the group”.
Shehu further assured members of NUJ that the state command is determined and committed to work in synergy with journalists in the state for effective information dissemination on the activities of the police.
It would be recall that the National president of Myetti Allah Kautal Hore Alhaji Bello Bodejo on the 17th January 2024 inaugurated over 1144 Nomad vigilante group in Nasarawa state, a situation which trigger public reaction and apprehension in the state and beyond.
