Former National Caretaker Committee chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Makarfi, said he has no anointed aspirant among the Kaduna State gubernatorial candidates.
Makarfi disclosed this while receiving the Director General and members of Dallatu 2019 Central Working Committee on a Sallah homage to his house.
This was contained in a statement signed by the committee’s Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Lere.
He expressed his belief in consensus in selecting those to fly the party flag in the forthcoming elections.
He warned that the process should be voluntary where only popular and acceptable candidates emerged.
He described as untrue that he asked anybody to via for any elective position, adding that no one has contacted him before declaring his interest.
Earlier, Director General (DG) Dallatu 2019 Campaign Organization, Nuhu Dogo, told Makarfi that they were in his house to pay him Sallah homage, as well as to wish him well in his aspiration to be 2019 PDP presidential candidate.
Nuhu Dogo assured senator Makarfi of the support of Dallatu Campaign team.
