IBB returns from Germany

IBBFormer military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has returned home, to Minna, at the weekend after two months medical treatment in Germany.

The former leader, whose chartered aircraft touched down, at the Minna airport, was welcome by his immediate family members made up of Halima, two of his grand children, led by his eldest son, Mohammed on Saturday.

Babangida arrived at his hilltop mansion saying, “Alhamdullillahi” even as he acknowledged the solidarity shown by Nigerians during his ailment, saying that he is now stable and feeling much better.

Speaking to journalists at his home, he said, “I am feeling better; I want to use this opportunity to appreciate my entire compatriot Nigerians for the goodwill, gestures they expressed during my absence, I have been deeply touched by their love, affection and prayers. I want to use this medium to thank each and every one of them”

“I miss all of you that welcomed me, especially my local champions (correspondents/reporters); I look forward to sitting and chatting with all of you about politics and other national issues as we always do.

“I will not say anything now until later”, he said.

IBB drove into his premises in a BMW car in company of his military officers associates, who include Defence Minister Aliyu Gusau, AVM Hamza Abdullahi, General Halilu Hakilu, Col. Habibu Shuaibu, Hassan Jalo and former PAN chairman, Umaru Ndanusa and his younger brother, Sani Ndanusa, who was a former Sports minister.

He said he always monitored BBC when he was away to hear all that was happening in the country.
