From Yakubu Mustapha Minna
Professor of soil science, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Professor Muhammad Yakubu has called for the enforcement of land use act and regulations in order to ensure sustainable use and proper land management in Nigeria.
He made this known during the 18th inaugural lecture on “Pedology and Nigerian Farmer: The Nexus”, held at the Institute campus, Lapai.
He applauded the idea of establishing Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS) by an Act of 2017
Professor Yakubu who is the current Provost, Niger State College of Education COE Minna, also recommended the need to increase Pedological research as well as soil information system.
