Brown Ideye got close twice within the 40 minutes he played, he had a header that hit the side netting and a nice turning inside the box but Southampton goal keeper, and Fraser Forster was alert and raced off his goal line to claim a good save off Ideye’s effort.

Ideye shared his views on those two moves that nearly hit the back of the net on his debut.

“The first header was close, in my mind it was in, I saw the ball and anticipated a move to the back post, I was unlucky,”

“The second chance, I made a great turn but the ‘keeper came out very quickly and it was a good save.”Ideye told club official website.
