The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Suleiman Abba has ordered for the immediate prosecution of anyone found to be connected with violence during campaign.
The IGP also ordered their immediate prosecution in the court of law no matter their status in the society.
A statement signed by the the Force Public Officer, Ag. CP Emmanuel Ojukwu said the IGP has urged politicians to play the game by the rules saying that the Nigerian Police will not condone any act of hooliganism from any quarters.
He assured members of the public of their safety always and equally enjoined them to support the Police by reporting any untoward criminal act in their areas promptly at the nearest Police station.
