I’ll put all I have to make Yahaya Bello President in 2023 – Commissioner, Fanwo

By Ikechukwu Okaforadi

Former Commissioner for Information in Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo, has said he is ready to sacrifice all he possessed politically and economically to ensure that his Governor, Yahaya Bello emerges president of Nigeria in 2023.

Fanwo, who is gunning for House of Representatives seat to represent people of Yagba Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, told journàlists after picking his expression of interest and nomination forms at the International Conference Center (ICC) in Abuja, venue of APC sales of forms, that his mission to the green chamber is to legislate on the yearnings of his Constituents.

“I will easily choose that my boss, my mentor, my benefactor, Governor Yahaya Bello become the President. I can sacrifice anything for him to become the President of this country. It is not about me. It is about our nation. It is about the person that can bring security and unity and he can do it.

“I am contesting to represent the great people of Yagba federal constituency and when you look at People of Yagba, we are blessed with best brains in Nigeria. When you talk of the best educationist, the best in medicine, the best in engineering, you are talking of the very good poeple of Yagba, but unfortunately for us, we are not being represented in that capacity in the green Chambers.

“I am not saying the person there now is not doing anything, he has done some good things, but the reason why I’m stepping forward is because I can do it better”, he said.

He also he is bringing onboard experience and capacity he has acquired from direct relationship with the people of his area, saying it is called participatory representation.

“You can not represent the people you don’t know. You cannot represent the people you don’t even understand. You cannot represent the people that you don’t even understand the challenges they are going through. You must know them. You must understand them before you can represent them and that is what we are bringing on board from 2023.

“Yagba is blessed with agriculture, we don’t have to be Chairman of Customs Committee, it is of no use to us except if you want to carry Customs vehicles to come and distribute to your people, that is not what we want.

“To go to the House of Representatives, you must be talking about the Water Resources Committee, you must be talking about the Agriculture Committee. Those are the things that have direct bearing on the people of Yagba”, he said.
