A Bauchi State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant, Engineer Mohammed Gambo Umar has declared that if elected in 2015, he would embark on revamping moribund industries in the state to sustain economic growth and generate employment.
The aspirant stated this during his formal declaration as a gubernatorial aspirant under the APC at the Zaranda Hotel Bauchi yesterday.
Gambo Umar said “if I become governor my administration would focus attention on revamping all the moribund industries in the state for the sustenance and growth of the economy of the state that will generate employment to our teeming youth.”
“We have moribund industries that are laying waste such as the fertilizer company, cotton seed industries and others that are not viable in the state” he said.
He pledged to use his wealth of experience and connection worldwide to explore waste to wealth, stressing that it is possible for the state to use waste to generate electricity and for wealth creation.
“If our administration come to power come 2015 we will equally improve the educational sector, health care system, embark on mechanization of the agricultural sector and revamp the tourism sector” he said.
Also speaking at the event, state APC Chairman, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana, represented by the Zonal Vice Chairman North, Alhaji Isa Mohammed Jammare commended all the gubernatorial aspirants in the state, adding that “the aspirants made party to be what it is today, without them the party will not succeed so we are proud of them.”
Uba Nana said the party executives in the state would give all the aspirants level playing ground while assuring that “all aspirants are equal before the state exco.”
