The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Imo State has reaffirmed its loyalty to the national leadership of the party under David Mark, insisting that the party remains united and strategically positioned for the 2027 general elections.
The declaration followed a meeting of the party’s State Executive Committee held in Owerri.
In a communique issued by the state Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, the party said the meeting reviewed the current state of the ADC and deliberated on strategies aimed at strengthening internal unity and grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The committee noted that despite recent political realignments, the party remained structurally stable, ideologically focused and committed to issue-based politics.
According to the statement, the ADC would intensify mobilisation efforts in all 27 local government areas of the state to strengthen its support base ahead of party primaries and the 2027 elections.
The party also expressed confidence in the leadership of former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, and former Deputy Governor, Gerald Irona, describing their roles as stabilising forces within the party.
“The Committee pledges unalloyed loyalty to the national leadership of the ADC under the distinguished chairmanship of Senator David Mark,” the statement read.
It added that the Imo chapter of the party remained aligned with the vision of the National Working Committee (NWC) and would work towards positioning the ADC for victory in the next general election.
The party further urged members to remain committed and avoid distractions, maintaining that the ADC remains a credible platform for national renewal and inclusive governance.
