Date:

From Umar Dankano, Yola

The seven-man probe panel investigating the allegations of gross misconduct leveled against governor Murtala Nyako and his Deputy, Barrister Bala Ngillari, has submitted its report to the state’s House of Assembly yesterday.

Making the submission of the report to the Speaker, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in his office, the chairman of the panel, Alhaji Buba Kaigama stated that, in the course of the panel’s assignment, the respondents refused to appear before it, a development that made the committee to work with the evidence and testimonies of the sole witness, Hon. Wafariniyi Therman.

‘’Despite being given enough opportunities, the respondents, Gov Murtala Nyako and his Deputy, Bala Ngillari did not attend; neither did they send representatives’’ the chairman stated.

According to the panel chairman, a letter of their findings was equally attached to the volumes.

Mr. Kaigama described the assignment of the panel as a call for their contribution to the development of democracy in Adamawa state and Nigeria at large.

Receiving the report of the panel, the Speaker, who was flanked by only his   Deputy, Mr. Kwamoti La’ore, congratulated the chairman and members of the panel for their recognition and appointment to serve the state.

The Speaker disclosed that, for the interest of democracy and Adamawa, the House will consider the report at the appropriate time during its plenary session in the near future.
