As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, the Chairman of Chairmen, Social Democratic Party (SDP)
Femi Olaniyi Ferrari, has called on all levels of government and citizens to recommit to building a more secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria.

In his independence message, Ferrari paid tribute to the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers who fought for the nation’s sovereignty and laid the foundation for a hopeful future.

He emphasized the importance of taking pride in Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, diverse population, and vast natural endowments, while also acknowledging the serious challenges that continue to impede national progress.

“We must pay heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices made by our forebears who valiantly fought for our sovereignty and left us a legacy steeped in courage, resilience, and hope,” he said.

Speaking on the ongoing issue of insecurity, Ferrari made a passionate appeal to the government at all tiers to prioritize the safety and well-being of every Nigerian.

“I enjoin the government at all levels to urgently address the insecurity ravaging our motherland. The safety of the common Nigerian must be a national priority. Let us sue for peace and build a society anchored on justice,” he stated.

He further emphasized the need for collaborative, democratic solutions, calling for improved governance, transparency, and accountability. He encouraged investment in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure to secure Nigeria’s future.

Highlighting the strength found in Nigeria’s diversity, Ferrari reiterated the SDP’s commitment to promoting unity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all citizens.

“Our vision is for a Nigeria where every citizen enjoys equitable access to opportunities, and where justice, equity, and peace prevail.”
