The All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria (AICAN) has vowed to stage a protest at the All Progressive Congress (APC) national convention scheduled for weekend.

Mr Jackson Nwosu, the National President of AICAN stated this in Abuja on Tuesday at the resumption of the contractors protest to press home on what it calls immediate payment of N150 Billion.

He called for the immediate payment of N150 Billion within the next 48 hours saying the money was part of the payment the government promised at its last protest between December 2025 to January 2026.

“For AICAN members, the government has only paid N21 Billion between this period in question, what is remaining to be paid is over N1 Trillion, but what we are discussing as the immediate payment we need is N150 Billion.

“Our immediate demand is for the payment to be made between now and next two-day and if not, the plan APC national convention in Abuja will not be successful.

“We will stage our protest at the APC convention venue, we will be there and make sure it is known to the world that this government is deceptive, what will want them to pay immediately is N150 Billion and they have committed to do that.

“We expected that money to drop into the various account of our members, we are in talk with officials of the Ministry of Finance already,” Nwosu stressed.

Mr Babatunde Seun, the National Secretary of the association also said that members are tired of the contineous lies from the Federal Government, while also urging the Federal Government to pay members their money.

He alleged that the government postponed the running of the 2024 budget from Dec. 2025 till March 2026, adding that between Jan. 2026 when they had their last protest and received part payment, government had not paid any other money till date.

“What AICAN has received as an association of contractors is N21 Billion as part of the list of payment finalised in Dec. 2025, a lot of our members are dying as a result of this debt the Federal Government owed members.

“We lost a member to prostrate cancer who has more than 100 million in this money owed members, if the money the government owed members was paid, the prostrate issue would have been operated.

“The Federal Government plan is to push us down to Debt Management Commission, a Federal Government agency but we will not allow that.

“The Federal Government officials went to UK on March 19 and the deal they went to sign for is over N748 Billion pounds, a megre of the N150 Billion of our immediate demand. All the money the government is owing us is N1.15 Trillion.

“Our call for the government now is to look at our immediate demand of150 Billion and pay the money instead of planning, preparing for the 2027 General elections, pay our money first,” Seun stressed.

Seun said that President Bola Tinubu has instructed those in-charge to pay the Indigenous Contractors but he doesn’t knows what is delaying the payment.
