As the security situation in Nigerià continue to attract debate daily by our citizens, the Commander General, Nigerià Forest Security Service (NFSS,) Amb Dr. Osatimehin Joshua Wole has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the practical step tàking towards reduction of security related scourge affecting our Communities by given approval for the creation of the National Forest guards.
CG Wole gave the Commendation yesterday in Abuja during the NFSS world press conference to alert Nigeriàns on the benefits of such Guàrds in tàckling insecurity in Forests all over our nation.
” I am highly delighted to address you today on President Tinubu’s approval of the establishment of Forest Guards in Nigeria.
This latest development is an indication that Mr President is committed to combating insecurity in the nation’s forested region.
” You will all agree with me that those evil elements who indulge in kidnapping, banditry and terrorism take advantage of Nigeria’s porous borders and various ungoverned areas which is the forest to negotiate for ransom for their victims.
” Therefore, President Bola Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of Forest Guards will no doubt go a long way in checkmating the activities of these criminals elements thereby enhancing the actualization of Mr President’s renewed hope agenda in the area of providing adequate security of lives and property of the citizens which is the primary objective of any government”.
‘ The move will also strengthen the internal security of our country, Nigeria and this is a positive step in the right direction therefore I want to appeal to all stakeholders to be committed to actualizing the objectives of Mr President’s approval on the Forest Guards” .
” Let me use this opportunity to say that to achieve this noble objective of President Bola Tinubu, the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, is a formidable Organization established about many years ago and has been complimenting the efforts of formal security agencies in combating insecurity in the forest across the country “.
“We are fully on ground in the 36 States of the Federation and the 774 Local Government Areas nationwide and our officers and men have been professionally trained by the Nigeriàn Police, The DSS, Nigeria Army, NSCDC and other formal security agencies within and outside the country on how to effectively safeguard the nation’s forested region as well as lives and property at the grassroots and our staff Members has been engaged by Many Governors across the country that hàs help in fighting criminals in the forest and the results àre all over the place thereby making us fit into Mr President’s plan of actions on the establishment of the Forest Guards and we’re ever ready to continue to compliment the efforts of formal security agencies towards actualizing President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda in the area of security”.
“Nigeria Forest Security Service had already put in place necessary structures towards realizing the President’s objectives on the establishment of the Forest Guards.”
” It will interest you to know, gentlemen of the press that our structure in all the States of the Federation and the FCT as well as all 774 Local Government Areas nationwide has made it possible for us to also support State Governments most especially in the Northern pert of the country in the fight against kidnapping, banditry, boko haram, terrorism and other crimes and criminality in their various States.”.
” I will not end this address without commending the two Chambers of the National Assembly, that is the Senate and the House of Representatives for the passage of NFSS Bill “.
