Institute confers Wamakko ‘Best Security Conscious Governor’ award

Sokoto state governor, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has been conferred as the ‘Best Security Conscious’ Nigerian Governor.

The award, which was in recognition of the governor’s doggedness in not only ensuring but also sustaining peace in the Seat of the Caliphate.

According to the organisers, International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), governor Wamakko got the award because of his excellent performance in security duties as the Chief Security Officer of Sokoto state.

The security committee of the Institute, which comprises of seasoned security practitioners, journalists, consultants as well as teachers after unanimously analysing governor Wamakko’s track record security-wise, vis-a-vis the corresponding economic values it has encouraged in the state, sees his historic policies at ensuring that security of the state experience peace against crime as a rewarding leadership quality.

“The award is an annual event aimed at analysing contemporary security challenges with the view of addressing them while profiling reasonable solutions” the organisers stressed.

Responding on the award, Wamakko maintained that the world would be a better place for all when we collectively give peace a chance.

While insisting that peace and peaceful coexistence are non-bargainable propeller of economic growth in any human setting, Wamakko advised leaders across all strata to ensure that justice remain a cardinal signpost of their leadership.

Commenting on the award, the Senior Special Adviser, Media to the governor, Alhaji Sani Umar said, they are not surprise that governor Wamakko was given such an award going by his track record of excellent leadership.
