Insurgency: Police anti-bomb squad detonates IED in Plateau

Members of the Police anti-bomb squad, in Plateau state have yesterday detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) mounted in Laranto market in of Jos North local government of Plateau state.

The detonated IED which was confirmed by the Plateau state Special Task Force (STF) , said the IED was discovered close to; Tin City school of Electronics under a culvet at Laranto market area in Jos north local government area of the state.

STF spokesman Captain Ikedichi Iweha who confirmed the incident said the bomb was detonated without hitches, calling on people in the state to be watched dog of their environment.

Captain added that “terrorists from the north east are looking for areas to cause trouble especially during this festive season. We urge people to remain vigilant and never take things for granted.”
