The Archbishop of Catholic Diocese Kaduna Rev. Father Matthew Man’Oso Ndagoso has said there can never be any mean full development in any country without peaceful co-existence .
He made this known to the media during an interview to commemoration International Day of Peace and Flag off of The Young Ambassador for Peace (YA4P) held in Kaduna yesterday.
The cleric added that peaceful coexistence is an antecedent for development saying if Nigeria is looking forward to any meaningful development in the country then they must be ready to live in harmony.
He expressed dismay over the practices of polluting people’s mind with hatred against others based on their religion or ethnic affiliations.
Ndagoso said the Young Ambassador for Peace project is a welcome development that will change the mindset of the youth.
He commended the organizers of the programme for holing the programme.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of YA4P Rev. FR. Joshua Yima Achir said the business of peace and the promotion of the right to human peace are the responsibility of all; and not the work of government or security agents alone.
He further explained that part of the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly were among other; is about the declaration of the rights of People to peace.
“The question of peace as always, cannot be over or under emphasized. Peace is something that must be spoken of everywhere and every time, anywhere and anytime, by one and all, irrespective of class, religion, tribe or region.
“ Just in my thoughts and with strong conviction, if the question of peace is preached by young peoples, with the mindset that every human has dignity and value, and that the right to peace is a common good, then our tomorrow’s society will certainly be better than today,” he said.
