The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the devastating flood that ravaged most parts of Maiduguri following the collapse of Alau Dam in the state.
National Chairman of IPAC, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle in a statement at the weekend said the Council is saddened by the disaster which has led to the death of some people, displacement of thousands of citizens, submerged houses, destroyed farms and paralyzed socio-economic activities in the state.
Dantalle assured the government and people of Borno state that IPAC shares in their pains and grief of those affected by this horrible flooding; even as he urged relevant government agencies to intensify the search and rescue operations to save lives and provide relief materials to the victims.
“Our thoughts and prayers are also with other flood victims across the country, particularly those who lost their loved ones and means of livelihood. This is a trying period and a time to demonstrate love and compassion to fellow compatriots that will alleviate their sufferings and restore hope for a brighter future”, he wrote. “
