The former governor of Plateau state, Senator Joshua Dariye yesterday alleged that the state’s local government polls conducted yesterday were full of irregularities and manipulation.

Dariye said this at the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, while complaining over the irregularities in the state’s LGC polls before the chairman of the commission, saying that thugs had attack people in his area during the exercise.

Our correspondent revealed that there was poor turnout of voters during the election in the state and there shortage of electoral materials like ballot papers, ballot boxes, result sheets and other materials.

Prior to the election, the APC Interim Secretary in the state, Alh Dasuki Salihu Nakande , alleged that PLASIEC has connived with PDP to rig the election but the PLASIEC boss kept denying that it was not true.

The Special Adviser to Governor Jang on media, Pam Dangwom Ayuba said, this is the first time election is been conducted in peaceful manner in the history of plateau state were the Governor emphasis on free and fair elections.

However, in some parts of Jos south metropolis, two ballot papers were snatched , while at Abattoir there were low turnout of the residents due to late arrival of PLASIEC officials and the materials for the election.
