I’ve been approached by presidency to join APC – Natasha

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, says she has been approached by the people in the presidency to join the All Progressives Congress, (APC).
Natasha disclosed this in an interview on Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye during the weekend.
She said she would not leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC, adding that she enjoys her peace in her party.
“And even when I got married, I also was faced with the question of, your husband is from Delta State, go contest in Delta State. You’re no more from Kogi.
“But at each time, I had such challenges, I had to brace myself. So I was ready for it. And I would tell every woman who wants to venture into it that it could be tough, but you have the strength in you.
“I was in APC briefly. At the start of everything but now, no. Why should I go join APC? I don’t have to follow the bandwagon. I don’t have to succumb to any threats or fall for any cajolement. Let me be honest about it. I’ve been approached by people from the presidency, from even my colleagues, even as recent as yesterday.
“I love my space. I love my peace here. I’m okay with my party now, so I don’t think I have to join the APC,” she said.
The Senator also declared that she remains the nightmare to former Governor of the state, Yahaya Bello.
Speaking on her senatorial ambition, Natasha said: “If by any choice I make up my mind and I’m on the ballot and ex-Governor Yahaya Bello is on the ballot, then I would say bring it on, scared of who? He’s not my nightmare, rather I’m his political nightmare.”
She also addressed claims that Senate President Godswill Akpabio removed some of her constituency projects.
“I said someone removed my projects,” she said.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also downplayed the possibility of contesting governorship position in the state come 2027.
Natasha disclosed that she may likely run for the Senate in 2027 after much consultations from her family and relevant stakeholders.
“I’m not even promised tomorrow, if by chance I live to experience the 2027 election, I may vie for the Senate again.
“That is what I’m currently in conversation with, with my political party and it’s not yet certain because I first have to get the buying of my husband and family.
“But if by chance he says go ahead I will take that step, as for the governorship in 2027, I don’t know and would not like to speak about that.”
She also dismissed the possibility of joining the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the PDP.
