The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Aso, Abuja, on Wednesday marked its 25th anniversary with a renewed pledge to sustain its legacy of leadership, integrity, and community impact for the next quarter-century.
Speaking at a press conference to commemorate the milestone, Chairman of the Anniversary , JCI Senator Abayomi Oladipupo Abdulateef, said the organisation had spent the past 25 years championing youth development, leadership training and community service.
“Our brand’s uniqueness is what everyone celebrates today.
“It’s been 25 years of challenges, successes, passion and emotions. Now, we are focused on sustaining this legacy for the next 25 years,”Abdulateef said.
He said the anniversary was not just a celebration for members of JCI Nigeria but also an opportunity to showcase the group’s impact on society and unveil its vision for the future.
The 2025 President of JCI Aso, JCIN Amb. Felix Akinyemi Sunday, emphasised that the organisation’s foundation was built on empathy, family values and inclusiveness.
“Every decision we make carries all arms of the organisation along.Our leadership structure ensures everyone is involved, and this inclusiveness is what has kept JCI Aso strong,”he said.
Former President of JCI Aso, Senator Oluwarotimi Adewole, said the organisation’s growth was rooted in integrity, friendship and discipline.
“At the start, we were just a few people who understood what true friendship meant,” he recalled.
“Today, our strength lies in leadership consistency, sincerity and support for one another. JCI Aso has evolved beyond us, and we are proud of its success story.”
One of the organisation’s longest-standing partners, Transcorp Hilton Abuja, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting JCI Aso’s mission.
Chukwudi Amadi, the hotel’s Groups, Conference and Events Manager, said the partnership, which has lasted over two decades, was recently renewed for another five years.
“This collaboration has yielded remarkable results and continues to grow.
“Beyond events, we want to embark on projects that directly impact youths, women, children and vulnerable groups in our communities”,he said .
Highlighting JCI Aso’s global footprint, former President Senator Richard Ojo noted that the organisation had produced leaders who excelled both within and outside JCI, including graduates of the prestigious JCI World Academy in Japan.
“Any product of JCI Aso can become anything — in JCI, in Nigeria, or anywhere in the world,”
“We’ve built leaders, change-makers and innovators who continue to make a difference globally,”Ojo said.
