Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has assented to the Jigawa State House Of Assembly Legislative Funds Management Law.
The Deputy Speaker of the state assembly, Alhaji Garba Maikudi who addressed the press yesterday, declared that the law provides for the running and administration of financial autonomy of the assembly as provided in the constitutional amendments.
The deputy speaker said the law gives the assembly legitimate right to access its funds as provided in the yearly budgets of the state directly from the consolidated revenue fund of the state.
The assembly has also approved financial guidelines for proper management and utilization of the fund.
He stated that the development will check mate the inadequacies of state governments that usually felt the assembly should not cross exermine them during their oversight functions.
