The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared Alhaji Musa Mohammed Adamu as the winner of the primary election of Garki/Babura federal constituency.
The chairman of the primary election committee in Jigawa state, Alhaji Mohd Aminu Ibrahim Kurfi said the primary election was contested and conducted peacefully.
According to him, the total votes registered is 688,605, votes accredited 604, votes casted, four votes invalid, while valid votes stands at 600.
He explained that out of the total valid votes, Alhaji Musa Mohammed Adamu scored 547 votes to defeat Idris Zangi Mohammed, who got 21 votes and Aliyu Mohammed Adamu, who scored 32 votes respectively.
Musa Mohammed Adamu is the son of the late House of Representative member that died at the end of December 2019.
While supervising the election, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in charged of Jigawa state, Mahmoud Isa, confirmed that the election was conducted peacefully without any rancour.
He said, about 11 parties showed interest to take part in the primary to be conducted one after the other.
