The Jigawa Government has said that it had constructed 50 windmills to facilitate the provision of water at grazing reserves in the state in the last seven years.

Alhaji Rabiu Isa, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, said this while fielding questions with newsmen in Dutse.

Isa said the facilities were constructed at various grazing reserves across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner said the project was aimed at curtailing the rate of conflicts between herdsmen and farmers over grazing lands.

According to him, the state government will also provide additional 30 windmills in other locations for herdsmen.

“Jigawa is the only state in the federation that has provided such facilities.’’

He said the gesture would boost livestock production as herdsmen could now feed and water their animals with ease. (NAN)
