Jigawa guber: Candidates vow development first

Two weeks to the 2019 general election, the gubernatorial candidates of different political parties in Jigawa state have promised to put Jigawa state first above all their interests.
The candidates also promised to support all process that would ensure a peaceful conduct of election, unity and progress of the state.
They unanimously reiterated their commitment on these, while speaking during a gubernatorial debate held yesterday at Ahmadu Bello Hall, Dutse.
The governorship candidates participated in the two hours debate included: Governor Muhammadu Badaru of APC, who is eyeing second term, Malam Aminu Ring of PDP, Bashir Adamu Jumbo of SDP and Murtala Musa of CNPP.
The debate focused on four key issues, comprising: education, health, agriculture and economic development.
In his speech, Governor Badaru narrated some of the achievements recorded on these sectors and promised to consolidate the gains for moving Jigawa to next level if re-elected.
Malam Aminu Ringim of PDP said he is contesting for the seat because the incumbent government has failed Jigawa people due to its incompetence and ignorance of leadership responsibilities, and vowed to reverse the unfortunate condition into a prosperous Jigawa.
In his submissions, the gubernatorial candidate of SDP, Alhaji Bashir Adamu Jumbo, said he will use agriculture to build strong local economy and designed policies and programmes to liberate Jigawa from economic and social backwardness.
Alhaji Murtala Musa Galamawa of CNPP stated that if elected, he will make Jigawa a food basket for Nigeria and also an exporter of agricultural product to other parts of the world.
The candidates then called on their supporters love each other and avoid any move that would jeopardise the peace in the state.
