The Jigawa North East Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Nuraddeen Muhammad, has hailed the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar over his sympathy visit to the Emir of Hadejia and Chairman State Council of Traditional Rulers; Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje Haruna, over the recent flood disaster that in the Area
The former Minister who described the visit as critical to his constituents, said the gesture has given them hope and promised that both his representation and the new PDP administration would take flood management as top priority.
The Emir of Hadejia, who had earlier described Abubakar as a friend of the Hadeja people and the state at large, appealed to governments at all levels to address the perennial floods once.
The former Vice President who earlier made a donation of 50 Million Naira also linked the worsening floods to climate change, and said efforts at mitigation and adaptation to global warming are key and will be his focus come May, 2023.
Abubakar was in the company of his his host, Alhaji Sule Lamido, a former governor of the state and a national leader of the party; the DG Atiku/Okowa 2023 Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwa; the 2023 PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido (the Santuraki of Dutse); his running mate Dr Babandi Ibrahim Gumel and many party leaders and supporters
It will be recalled that extensive floods had hit Jigawa State, most especially the North East Senatorial Zone in September this year claiming 106 lives and billions of Naira in ruins. Mr Abubakar paid similar visit to the Emir of Dutse; Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi CFR at his palace in Dutse the State Capital same day.
