The Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said it may adopt MuKaranta Hausa literacy for prosperity programme into primary schools curriculum.
This was announced by the executive chairman Jigawa state Universal Basic Education Board, professor Haruna Musa during a one day assessment and dessimination of MuKaranta literacy resources limited in collaboration with Jigawa SUBEB and Bono Energy.
Professor Haruna Musa who expressed his satisfaction with the programme, said it will improve pupils foundational skills to easily learn how to write and read.
“We are in discussion with them on how the programme will be sustained and expand to more local governments as it makes serious impact on our pupils”, he said.
While speaking on how to address the challenges of the programme, the chairman urged mothers and Schools Base Management Committee (SBMC) to develop habits of schools ownership as government is doing all its best to provide all necessary learning and teaching materials.
