Jigawa to train 10,000 youth on irrigation

The Jigawa state government is set to train over 10,000 youth on irrigation as part of efforts to eradicate poverty and create jobs for the youth.
This is even as the state has thrown its weight behind President Muhammad Buhari’s effort to eradicate poverty particularly among the youth who are the backbone of any society.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Kabiru Ali disclosed this yesterday while speaking to news men in Dutse the state capital. He explained that, the state government under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Abubakar Badaru concluded all arrangement to train over ten thousand youth on irrigation farming.
According to him, a total number of six thousand youth are to participate in irrigation farming programme while remaining four thousands women would be engage in state micro credit goat breeding programme.
He said,this effort is part of the state government move to support federal government in eradicating poverty among the teeming youth and to provide job opportunities for all Nigerians.
Alhaji Kabiru Ali added that, federal government under its poverty eradication programme selected seven states including Jigawa to benefit where 42 youth were selected to be train.
The commissioner then, called on the youth in the state to support present administration’s effort for eradicating poverty and create more wealth in the state.
