From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
As part of efforts to foster inclusive ownership and strengthen traditional and community stakeholder engagement, the Unified Improved Teaching Education (JigawaUNITE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic Education, embarked on a series of courtesy visits to the five Emirates in the state.
The visit was led by Mr Olusanya Omojola, acting MD JigawaUNITE, aimed at briefing traditional rulers on the JigawaUNITE initiative, securing their support and laying the foundation for collaborative delivery of foundational learning improvement in their respective domains.
He maintained that, the visits to the five Emirs have reinforced the importance of traditional institutions in achieving foundational learning goals.
“These engagements have not only helped build trust and collaboration but have also provided valuable insights that will shape delivery strategy and stakeholder communication going forward”, he said.
Speaking shortly after receiving the team, the emir of Dutse His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, Emir of Dutse, alongside the Galadima and senior council members, expressed gratitude for recognizing and involving traditional institutions, stating it is the right and proper thing to do for any serious program targeting community-level transformation.
