The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Emmanuel Jime has lampooned the Peoples ‘ Democratic Party, PDP for protesting over the decision of the Appeal Court to determine the Appeal in the Benue gubernatorial polls in Abuja.
In a press release signed by spokesman of the campaign organization Kula Tersoo which was available to Peoplesdaily yesterday, Jime wondered why the PDP is raising eye brow over the shift in the venue to Abuja to hear and determine the Appeal.
Jime also, reminded the ruling party that the Appeal Court is the same across the country, accusing the party of exhibiting medieval ignorance.
“Except the PDP would educate us more on what really their fears are; and may be how they used specific sitting locations in the past to their advantage, we wish to state that where people believe in a judicial system, they also believe that the sitting location of a court cannot affect the substance of a case.
“It is indeed a weeping shame that no member of the legal team from the legal adviser of the party to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN and the Attorney General of the State could not restrain them from the blunder of questioning the sitting location of the court and funnily demanding the court to sit where they want.
“Have they forgotten that Appeal Court all over the country is one?
“It is instructive at this point to put it to the Benue PDP that they should stop manifesting medieval ignorance”, Jime said.
It should be noted that the PDP had on Tuesday vehemently objected the sudden transfer of the Governorship Appeal to Abuja, claiming that they were not informed about the decision.
The said Appeal is bid to be heard on Thursday 21st November, 2019.
